About
Education
We run a small family business. Robbie Marshall is an arborist originally from Berwick-upon-Tweed from the North East of England. He studied forestry at Newton Rigg College, following which he specialised in arboriculture for three years at Myerscough College being awarded a National Diploma in Arboriculture.
As a result of this training and 15 years experience Robbie has skills in:
- A thorough knowledge of trees and tree care. Including the features and characteristics of each species and the growth patterns specific to each type of trees.
- Rope access climbing allowing him to work in tight spaces. He does not generally use cherry pickers reducing the potential damage to the surrounding area and eliminating soil compaction.
- Felling trees in sections and lowering the tree sections safely by the use of ropes. Robbie has also gained experience in the operation of chainsaws at heights, chainsaw maintenance and first aid.
Work experience
Robbie has worked in the following companies after his graduation:
- MJM Treesurgeons in London
- North West Tree Services in Blackpool
- Sheffield City Council
- Tillhill UPM
- Trädmästarna in Stockholm, Sweden
- Acer Tree Care, own business
His work has taken him to many interesting places including The Natural History Museum, Brands Hatch Race Circuit, Holy Island in UK and Drottningholms slott in Stockholm, just to name some.
How did he end up in Estonia?
Whilst working in Sweden Robbie met Diana from Estonia. The couple got married and moved to England to Robbie’s home town where they ran their own tree care business for five years. Recently they decided to relocate to Estonia and are living in Saku with their two young children.
